  2nd Encounter

  In January 1948 Sukenik once again was informed by a Christian Arab , belonging to the Syrian-Jacobite church, of the existence of additional scrolls. Passage between the two parts of the city had already become dangerous and difficult. They met in the YMCA , where he was given three of the four scrolls for his examination. Sukenik thought, as he wrote in his diary, that if he would present the dealer with the sum of 2,000 Israeli pounds on the spot, the latter would not be able to control himself, he would not bargain, and he would sell him the scrolls. But despite all of Sukenik's efforts he did not succeed in raising the money. He could not even find a photographer in those prewar days. Much to his chagrin, he had to return the scrolls. Actually , these were the four scrolls that the Syrian-Jacobite Metropolitan , Mar Smauel , had purchased and which, through an intermediary, he had given to Sukenik for professional evaluation.

  They agreed to meet a week later to continue the negotiations. This was the last time Sukenik was to see the scrolls. At this point we must return to Metropolitan Samuel in the Old City of Jerusalem , which had become part of the Jordanian kingdom in May 1948. The Metropolitan turned to another archaeological institute that remained on the eastern, Jordanian side of the border: the American School of Oriental Research . Only a single researcher, John Trever , was in the school when a Syrian-Jacobite monk brought him the scrolls to be examined.

  Although early Hebrew script was not Trever's specialty, he succeeded in identifying portions of the Book of Isaiah The Metropolitan refused Trever's request to photograph the parchments, but the researcher insisted, arguing that publication would raise their value. The argument worked. Trever barely had enough photographic materials. Three of the four scrolls were photographed, and were published shortly afterwards: the Isaiah Scroll (manuscript A), the Manual of Discipline , and Pesher Habakuk . An apocryphal scroll on Genesis , the " Lamech Scroll ," was rolled up, in a poor state of preservation, and was not photographed. American confirmation of their nature and antiquity was finally given by Professor Albright , on the basis of photographs sent to him at John Hopkins University in the United States

  To render on God's uniqueness we cross reference against our understanding and knowedge of who He is, but can we be certain that we fully understandand and know who He is, I am not trying to mislead the believer but rather try enforcing the danger of not having the full understanding of knowing Him intimately and lovingly.

  Why does it matter, because one WILL overcome the other if God will have His way, which He ultimately will.
  
  The enemy will use the threads that are left hanging as grapes that hang off the tree ready to be harvested, threads are considered an unfinished product a child process of a parent, the unfinished work that God is about to finish. These threads are targeted as they can bring easy access to God himself, so what are these hanging threads, here are some ideas that would be well to consider, the Jews including the priesthood perhaps even portraying the Old Testament (tradition, the old and perishable that is still in its making to be transformed into the return as fruit bearer an acknowledgement of the Messiah. The enemy targets where God is at work and His people the Jews are a number one target. A big impact on God would be to have His people be sequestered.
  
  How can we prevent ourselves from being subdued by the influence surrounding us that betray us and overshadow the truth. Are there signs that we will be confronted to stand trial on these things, I believe the answer is yes we are undergoing fundamental changes in society that will not only seperate us from God the Creator but accept the World religion and bow to false gods, unless we are rooted in the Truth and Knowledge of the Savior Jesus Christ. We will be asked like Peter to confess our Savior our Prophet our Messiah.
  
  That which is dear to God is targeted, therefore the priesthood will be targeted, the ambition of the high priest is targeted, have you ever considered your priesthood ?.
  
  Islam has set its target on God himself, if we look at what Islam teaches it teaches that Islam is the same as what is taught in the Bible. That the prophets are the same as in the Koran, it target what belongs to God the priests, the prophets. By stating there to be equality between God and his statutes, they enable themselves to be put to a level that is considered equal thereby disabling his word that says there is no other God but God himself. Therefore as a people targeted we must learn to render on God's uniqueness, there is no other God but God who was and is and is to come, the same yesterday, today and forever.
  
  As Christians we must know the truth and the truth will set us free, but we must also declare the truth in our hearts daily.
